This rag-tag team of rockers took to their vans and headed out to Texas for SXSW, where they did a handful of unofficial showcases to spread the word about the label and it’s killer musicians. Seven bands, one Airbnb, and several nights captured on film.
On January 6th, the locally loved bands Super Lunch and The Crudes took the stage at Bootleg Theater, for a show thrown by LA rock label, Penniback Records. Here’s a little collection of photos I snagged from the night.
Soma San Diego in the heat of summer, something I’ll always remember with sweaty hugs and half melted chocolate bars; a red tinted atmosphere illuminating light headed kids, halfheartedly spread out across the floor. This is how the months before a new school year takes form, again and again, every week bringing a new flow of bodies and a new soundtrack to the night. Friday, July 28th. Although Beach Goons, set as the headliner, had to pull out of the lineup, the energy that crashed through the concrete walls of Soma side stage didn’t falter for a moment. New voices took the stage in place of the much loved locals, and the show went on. Read on to see the large photo gallery from the show, a huge thanks to every group photographed, you made it yet another memorable night. (Make sure to check them out, the Instagram’s of the bands are linked to their names.)
